A Little About Our History
The purpose of the Hot Springs Artists Society, Inc. is to develop the cultural, educational and creative well-being of our community through the sponsorship of events, workshops, and public performances.
Hot Springs Artists Society, Inc. is a non-profit corporation. Our tax exempt status makes us a public charity. We are supported by memberships, charitable donations, and fund raising events. Anyone can become a member of the society! We appreciate your support and generosity. Our organization brings events to this small rural community for the benefit of all. We promote diversity, tolerance, education, culture, art, and creative thinking!
The Hot Springs Artists Society was founded in 1997. In 1998 the Hot Springs Artists Society was the winner of a grant titled “Arts Are Central To Our Communities” from the Montana Arts Council and The National Endowment For The Arts.
The Artists Society has sponsored many fine musical performances by artists and programs by visual artists. We help sponsor the Homesteader Days Main Street Stage and Street Dance, every second weekend in June and bring musical venues to town each Friday and Saturday night with the only method of payment being pass-the-hat, and we sponsor art and healing arts workshops through out the year.
For the children in our community we fund music lessons and provide a summer arts camp at no cost to the families, thanks to grants from the Montana Arts Council, an agency of the state government; The National endowment for the Arts; The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation; The Charlotte Y. Martin Foundation; S&K Technologies Inc.; and donations from Symes Hot Springs Hotel, local businesses and private parties.
